Mountain getaway

This weekend we were able to take a short trip to the mountains.  We found a pet-friendly hotel with great ratings, so we were able to take Newton along for the trip.  Emory was at the end of recovering from a cold but I was in the middle of nastiness.  It didn't make for the most enjoyable vacation.. but if nothing else, it was nice to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday and enjoy time with my family and seeing beautiful scenery.  (oh and eating waffles)

Minor Family Reunion 2013 {gulf shores}

Each year we get together with my mom's extended family on Father's Day weekend for a little family reunion.  We go to various locations (beach, lake, mountains) each year.. and this year we were at Gulf Shores beach again.  This also happened to be Emory's first trip to the beach, so that made it extra fun.

Emory did pretty good on the beach.  It was a little too bright for him and he was tired some while we were outside, so he got to nap under the shade tent. :)  His shirt was constantly riding up over his chubby belly.
