I totally wore jeans

So last week marked the official end of busy season. Whoo hoo. As a celebration, FDH closes the office on the 16th. Well since the 16th was on a Thursday this year, I decided to take off Friday instead and work on Thursday. Let me tell you, it was a very hard thing to do. Since the office was officially closed, I decided it would be totally acceptable to wear jeans, so that's what I did. However, since there were only a few of us in the office on the 16th, I skipped out pretty early to head to the Nashville Zoo to meet my sister for lunch and a little bit of fun time before she had to work. We had a great time eating hot dogs and ice cream and enjoying all the fun animals. The giraffes were probably my favorite. One in particular was very interested in us and kept showing us a lot of attention.

On Friday I went and got my first ever massage at Massage Envy. It was so awesome! I do believe I will be returning in the next month or so. After my massage, I met my husband for a wonderful lunch at PF Changs. Delicious. The rest of Friday was spent running a few errands, cleaning and packing to head to good 'ole Memphis. fun times.

Hippy Hoppy

Aaron and I had a very busy and wonderful Easter weekend. Friday evening started out with dinner at TGIFridays with Andrew. He and a whole bunch of others from our former church in Germantown were in Nashville for the annual Lads to Leaders convention at the Opryland Hotel. After dinner we all went over to the convention and cheered on the youth at the ceremony before heading back to the apartment to watch The Office and House. On Saturday morning I headed to Opry Mills to meet up with Maggie (also here for the convention). We had a yummy lunch at Johnny Rockets followed with some fun shopping. I had a blast getting to spend some much needed time with her! After a while I had to cut our visit short so I could head home and pack up the car to head to Memphis. This was the 1st year since I can remember that our family has not celebrated Easter in Nashville… but this year my mom decided to host Easter at her house. It worked out well because it meant that I also got to see my handsome little nephew on his 1st Easter. Friday night we spent with the Howells eating BBQ (how Memphisy) and just spending time together. Most of the time I was just holding and loving on precious Ethan. Krystle and I did break away from the others for a little while to do a little bit of shopping, which was a lot of fun.

After church on Sunday morning Aaron and I took quick family pictures with the Howells before heading over to my parents’ house for our little Easter celebration. We had a big group of family and friends with plenty of food. Somehow we all squeezed around one big table. We also celebrated my brother’s big 25 bday with some yummy cherry pie. After we were all extremely full we gathered in the living room for James’ very own Easter egg hunt. We had a very wonderful time! Happy Easter!

A special page

I wanted to do something special for Andrew and Krystle and Baby Ethan. I really like the little digital photo books but I decided to not do one for multiple reasons, including the extra time and extra pictures needed and since I had already given them a scrapbook for a shower gift. So I decided to design them a little digital collage and have it framed. I really enjoyed making it and I think it turned out great! :)

Late night dessert

Tonight I got to spend some much needed time with my very dear friend, Laura. We both attended Harding together and did the whole accounting thing (we're crazy) and she was a bridesmaid in my wedding. After school Laura moved to North Carolina so I haven't seen her too much. Luckily she has quite a bit of family in Nashville and was able to score an audit here so there are random times that she is in town. She's been in Nashville for almost 3 whole weeks and we are just now getting together! Stupid busy season. (poor girl has been working till 9 or later every night).
Anyways, we met up for late night dessert at the local McDonalds. We grabbed a corner booth and chatted the night away. I still haven't figured out why we talked about work soo much... don't we have better things to talk about? Gosh I miss her.

Ambulance

This morning I was startled awake by Aaron whispering, "Do you hear that?". After a few seconds to get myself together, I listened intently. I could tell that our window was open and there was an ambulance driving down the main road past our apartment... but wait.... the ambulance seemed a lot closer than that. hmm can you guess? It was Newton! Our crazy dog likes to mimic the ambulance siren which then turns into a hound dog type of howl. He is crazy.

I just don't get it

I have yet to understand people's obsession with totally pimped out cars with their bass so high that it feels like there's an earthquake. hmm....
