Aaron and I just got back from a wonderful trip to Wisconsin to visit some of my family. I will be blogging more about our trip soon... in the meantime, I found it very necessary to post about the one and only ride that we experienced at the Wisconsin State Fair, and by we.. I mean Aaron and my Uncle Gary rode it.. while the rest of us stayed down below and laughed our heads off. The laughing is mainly due to the fact that Uncle Gary must not have been aware that he was being broadcast on the speakers for all to hear. LOL.

Sunflower Wedding

This past weekend was an exciting one for our family as we officially welcomed a new member! My little sister got married! The lucky guy is Geordan Lugar. We are really happy for them. It was a very busy weekend but the end product was a happy and beautiful wedding and couple. :) I loved getting to see lots of family that I rarely see. We are now on our way to Milwaukee to visit even more family. Busy but wonderful times. More posts coming soon! :)

Celebrating...

Wow, I have lots to catch up on. :) I haven't been a good blogger lately. Between traveling, reunions, photography, new job (yep, I'll blog about it soon!), weddings, etc.. life has been running away from me... and I'm just trying to keep up.

Aaron and I recently celebrated our 2nd anniversary. :)
Technically our anniversary was after our cruise, however we celebrated while on vacation with a cruise excursion, followed by a fancy meal on the ship.

We were planning on checking out the Stingray Sandbar while at Grand Cayman Islands, however when we arrived, we were informed that the excursion was canceled due to the windy weather. So sad.

Instead of trying to pick up another excursion there at the port, Aaron and I decided to wander around the island. We were pointed in the direction of a beach, so we started on our way... luckily for us some cruise guy stop us and told us we were going the wrong way.. haha. At that point, we really had no idea what to do. We debated riding in a taxi around the island, submarine tour (kinda pricey) or a random snorkeling hut. We chose random snorkeling hut. :) This was my first time ever snorkeling and I absolutely loved it. My feet did not, there were a couple of blisters from where the flippers rubbed against my toes. and I absolutely failed when it came to the mask. I could not keep water from leaking for more than 3 minutes at a time.... and I kept forgetting that I was snorkeling and would go too deep under and start choking on salty salty water. lol. Aaron had a good time too. He spent quite a bit of his time following a particular fish around. He's so weird. I ended up scraping up my knee on a rough rock, I'm glad the sharks didn't come for me.


Once we returned to life on the boat, we met up with Mags and Hunter for a friendly game of putt-putt. I'm not going to lie, I was pretty good. I even got my first hole-in-one. (well that was technically on our first day on the boat.. but nonetheless... also just realized that I never blogged about the first day, not sure I ever will) I've never been good at putt-putt... must have been all the wind helping me out. :)


Next up was fancy dinner date night with my wonderful husband. We got dressed up in our best. Me = beautiful teal dress, technically not my best as I borrowed it from an awesome friend, and some smoking heels. Aaron = sharp looking suit. We feasted at the on-board steakhouse. Of course I got the surf and turf (filet migon and lobster, fyi), my favorite and go-to meal whenever I go out for a fancy dinner. Aaron got a huge NY strip... his might have been better than mine... I had to taste it a couple of times to make up my mind. We also got fabulous dessert. Me = chocolate*4. Aaron = humongous cheesecake.



All in all we had a wonderful day celebrating our 2nd anniversary. Eating delicious food, spending time with friends, snorkeling in the Carribean, visiting foreign island, putt putting out at sea, and loving on each other... basically all the things we do best.

Happy 4th!

Happy 4th everyone! Aaron and I will be celebrating with the Howell family. They are on their way to Atlanta from Memphis right now. We'll be eating good and having lots of fun. :)

How lucky are we that they decided to spend their anniversary in good 'ole Atlanta? Unfortunately we were actually heading out of town.. but we made sure to meet up for a real quick visit at Cold Stone Creamery!
And even though Mindy didn't find our visit important enough to blog about.. I did. So here are some pixs!

Oh the Beach...

My friend Lauren and I hit up the beach (and the outlet malls.. sssh!) recently. Since it was just the two of us.. laying all the beach all day.. we didn't take tons of pictures, except when we went out to eat for dinner. hehe.

Glad we made it before the oil got there. We had a pretty much free vacation. We stayed at my great-aunt and uncle's place while they were out of town. All we paid for was gas and food. Perfect vacation! :)

Cruise Detour to Disney

Wow! I've been a horrible blogger lately. Life has been great lately, and very busy. I successfully made it though busy season (whoo hoo!) and Aaron and I celebrated our 2nd anniversary. (another whoo hoo!) The 1,103 pictures I took on our trip just overwhelmed me... so I've kinda been putting it off. We leave in 1 week for family reunion #1 for the year... so since I am already so far behind.. I figured I better get started on posting. Since there are so many pictures and because we did so much, and for sanity purposes, I'll be posting about our trip in multiple posts over the next couple of days. Hoping to get semi-caught up before the rest of the summer hits full force.

We actually had a little bit of a tweak in plans for the cruise, one of my best friends (Maggie) and her husband (Hunter) decided to come along to. I'm glad they came.. I had a sun friend and Aaron and Hunter could hang out reading in the shade. We also played games every single night. fun times.
Alright.. so the 1st part of the trip, which seemed like a vacation all in itself was DISNEY WORLD! yep.. that's right the big 'ole WDW. We actually didn't go into any of the theme parks because they are EXPENSIVE.. especially for one day passes... We actually got a room at the Hilton in Downtown Disney, which included 4 complimentary tickets to Disney Quest which is an indoor virtual theme park type of thing. I thought Aaron would love it since it was inside, I was right.

On our way over to Disney, we stopped in Celebration, FL which is a cute little town designed by Disney. Think Pleasantville.


Then we headed on over to Downtown Disney to hit up all the sites.


Once in Disney Quest we played human pinball, built and rode our own virtual rollercoaster, killed aliens, shot cannons at pirate ships, virtual whitewater rafting, and rode on magic carpets. It was so much fun!! I'm glad that we were able to experience a different part of Disney.


After a fun-filled day at Disney Quest, Aaron and I headed out for date night at Disney World. We ate at an energy packed restaurant called the Whispering Canyon Cafe then headed back to Downtown Disney to see the night life and get dessert. We hit up the Candy Cauldron for some ridiculously priced but awesomely delicious chocolate covered strawberries and Ghirardelli for their famous hot fudge sundae. (just like the one we got in San Francisco on our 1st anniversary!)



Whew what a busy day and we hadn't even made it to Miami yet!!
